After 20 very successful years in the high-tech industry working for IBM, DEC and Cellular One, Ted’s IT career evaporated into thin air after the dot com crash. He was forced to reinvent himself and became a certified professional coach because he enjoyed mentoring his staff. While learning how to market his coaching practice, he fell in love with online marketing and lead generation which resulted in the shift from professional coaching to the creation of his marketing agency. Highlights of Ted’s career include:

  • Working for Digital Equipment Corporation in the 1980’s while the computer industry exploded with the evolution of mini-computers and the development of ethernet and computer networking.
  • Becoming the first information network manager and employee number 40 at Cellular One. Ted managed the expansion of the information network from two offices to over 30 offices and retail locations over six years. Ted managed 30 desktop and network support engineers.
  • IT Consultant in the ISSC Division of IBM. Created IT strategies and designed information networks for clients like GAP and Kaiser Permanente
  • IT Director at Putnam Lovell where Ted managed the IT department. Putnam Lovell expanded from 35 employees to over 300 employees in just three years in four offices worldwide. Ted designed and implemented the expanded information network and started the first IT department for the company.
  • Online Advertising and SEO Manager for Sitecore. Ted managed all of the company’s online advertising around the world running ads in over 10 countries. The company grew from $25M/year to over $125M/year in just 3 1/2 years right after the economy collapsed in 2008.
  • Running online marketing and social media lead generation campaigns for clients in 10 countries with his marketing agency Search Marketing Simplified, LLC.
